Ravana Falls tumbles beside the main road towards Wellawaya and is one of the most easily reached waterfalls in the hill country — you can see it from the roadside without any walking at all.
Flow varies enormously with the season: dramatic after monsoon rain, modest in dry months. Rocks near the water stay slippery year-round, currents below falls are stronger than they look, and swimming here has caused serious accidents. Admire it from a safe, established viewing spot.
Parking is informal and traffic on the bend is fast. Take care crossing, and keep an eye on children near the road.
